These two beautiful Cavaliers visited us for their EPIC study heart scans, and were very well behaved throughout!

The EPIC study (Evaluation of Pimobendan In dogs with Cardiomegaly) was a large veterinary collaborative study. It demonstrated that dogs who have mitral valve disease and enlargement of the heart, but are not yet showing outward signs of their disease benefitted from starting medication early.

The study showed that by starting early, the drug can significantly extend the symptom-free period by an average of 15 months*!

If your dog has a murmur, or has been diagnosed with mitral valve disease and you have any questions, please speak to your vet – they are best placed to decide what treatment your pet needs! If they recommend an EPIC scan, we can perform these at our Long Eaton Hospital and also at our Byron Branch.

Floyd is very grateful to you for doing his EPIC Study heart scan and starting him on his heart tablets straight away, such a worthwhile thing to have done!!
