Meet Our Reception Staff
Jane, has been working for us since 1993 and is our Reception Manager. She trains our new reception staff and deals with most of our client insurance claims, in 2006 she won the Petplan Insurance Advisor of the year!
Jane is the “Mum” of the practice, always there with a shoulder for people who need it. She has two Jack Russells – Wesley and Winston and a cat – George (You can read his story here).
Jane enjoys visits to Derbyshire and can often be found in her caravan there.
Jo is our Deputy Reception Manager. She has been with use since 2000 and is qualified up to Level 2 in BSL. Jo also deals with insurance claims. She is available on reception at various times Monday-Friday.
She has 4 cats called Pearl, Lime, Rory and Pepper, and a bouncy Labrador called Gunner; all of which have been rehomed from Ashfield House…and two royal pythons called Yorkie & Venus.
Outside of work, Jo likes motor racing, walking and swimming.
Sam started working as a receptionist at Ashfield House in September 2002. She is our Saturday receptionist and has 2 dogs – Oscar and Paddy; and 2 Rex rabbits Roobarb and Neelee.
Sam also started her own business Safe and Sound Pet Sitters in August 2007.
Caroline joined the Spondon team as a Receptionist in September 2008. Prior to working for us, Caroline worked as an Accountant.
Her love of animals meant a change of career path for her.
Jane has worked for Ashfield since May 2012 as a receptionist she can usually be found at our Bramcote and Long Eaton branches manning the front desk.
Jane is a qualified Pet plan insurance advisor and has been nominated for Pet plan receptionist of the year 2013 and again in 2014!
Jane is currently working towards her Hills Veterinary nutritional advisor Certificate.
Jane is very keen to learn more hands on skills with the animals and can be regularly found in our hospital wards lending a hand to the vets and nurses.
I have been working for Ashfield since October 2016 on the reception team. I have 2 dogs – Harley the Dobermann and Lulu the Dachshund. I also have 3 cats – Ganon, Pringle and Edwin.
I have done my Vet Nursing Assistant Course in 2018 and my Bronze and Silver British Veterinary Receptionist Association Awards. I also hold a feline behaviour and psychology CPD certificate.

Ann joined the practice in January 2009 as a weekday Receptionist. She has been nominated before for Pet Plan Receptionist of the year.
Ann has 2 pets George and Monty – a Lab/Spaniel who looks nothing like either breed.
